Dear Ranee,
Please accept the thanks of everyone at the State Theatre for an extraordinary residency program that reached over 3,000 people in our local area. As our cultural ambassadors, you, Aparna, and the rest of the Ragamala troupe won over a large and diverse new audience for the theater and helped us connect with our sizeable and mostly untapped Indian community. Both Asian and non-Asian audiences lavishly praised the energy, passion, and beauty of your work.
We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to perform in a variety of settings under circumstances that were sometimes less than ideal. At each of the more than 25 outreach sites, you did an exemplary job of tailoring your presentation to the needs, interests, and understanding of that particular audience. Your Informances struck just the right balance of information, artistry, entertainment, and audience participation. In the culminating event of the residency--the public concert at the State Theatre--you eloquently demonstrated the power of the arts to unite a community.
You and Aparna were a presenter's dream: so gracious and easy to work with. Jacquie, Beth, and I truly enjoyed the opportunity to share you with the people of Central New Jersey. We learned a lot about Indian culture and had so much fun in the process!
I hope to have the opportunity to work with you and your company again in the near future. We wish you and your company continued success.
Best regards,
Lian Farrer
