Yathra (Journey)
Ragamala Dance has been featured at prestigious festivals
& theaters worldwide for its contemporary presentation of Bharatanatyam (the classical dance form of Southern India),
& for carrying Bharatanatyam into the 21st century
while respecting its rich tradition.

Following their acclaimed 2008 Fringe engagement, Ragamala presents the European premiere of Yathra (Journey) which
explores the intricacies of the human journey-from the dawn of birth to the twilight of life. Yathra is an original composition by
renowned New-Delhi-based soloists & composers
Shubhendra Rao on the sitar & Saskia Rao on her Indian cello, both performing live.

This engagement is supported by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation through USArtists International with support from the National Endowment for the Arts & the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
